I don’t think DeSantis would want that job, and he shouldn’t take it if offered. He’s not a second-banana anymore than Trump is. And leaving the governorship to be VP would be pretty lame.
Who should Trump pick as his VP? Someone he can trust—someone with a long history in politics so as not to be fooled by the Deep State. Rand Paul? Trey Goudi? Ted Cruz? Who not to pick— any RINO.
I think DeSantis might accept VP with Trump as it would position him to run for President in 2028 as the current VP. Plus, if Trump gets fed up with it and quits he would be a great successor. If that happens while another republican is Trumps VP they will have the best pick to run in 2028 and 2032. Also, the VP usually gets the primary win over someone else and since Trump can only serve one more term this would be his quickest route to a Presidential run. Otherwise he will always be facing a VP in the primary, which is not impossible but it is difficult since the VP has always been seen as the party’s next nominee and running against one could really upset the apple cart, especially if MaConnell is still in power (heaven forbid) and prefers someone other than DeSantis.
Kerri Lake is very Trumpian; smart, forceful and playful in her relationship with the media. But, Arizona needs her to turn that state around and that will take more than two years.
Ron DeSantis is Trump’s mini-me (well, in many ways). But, generally, you ‘d like the V.P. to bring some “balance” to the ticket. DeSantis will have served 6 years and be term-limited. He’d be great for a cabinet position. As to whether DeSantis could be a #2, there’s no question about that. He’s military. He knows chain of command.
