Finally, a bit of sanity.
We have a bunch of idled drillers here that can get ‘er done.
Looks like the UK finally elected a PM with some ‘stones.’
Good job PM.👍
But...But...But Global Warming!
This is the kind of positive fallout I have been expecting from Russia’s European war.
Exactly. If Russia won't supply the EU the US can step up to the plate and become their primary supplier of fossil fuels instead. The revenue could then help us put a dent in our $30 trillion deficit. Everybody except Russia wins, yet there are still many Freepers stuck in "But sanctions bad" mode.
6-8 weeks but markets will begin relaxing tomorrow...which will help a bit.
hope for more global warming this winter
What are the odds of that ? zero....in the near term
Surely this will make many European voters realize that a nation’s energy needs are not a game but a matter of life and death and economic survival, and frankly, living as modern people.
The politics of dependable energy sources such as nukes and coal and nat gas is bound to get easier for the politicians promoting them and self-sufficiency.
None of this bodes well for Russia.
I would imagine that with Western companies pulling out of Ukraine and Russia, coming up with some good people won’t be too hard.
I love the smell for schadenfreude in the morning.
I’m hoping, for their sake, that all of Europe will have a really cold winter and they’ll freeze their butts off in the dark.
I say, “for their sake”, because sometimes you have to hit a mule upside the head with a 2x4 to get its attentions and make him come to his senses.
“Liz Truss will declare on Thursday as she promises more North Sea drilling and ditches the fracking ban.”
Sounds like she’s off to a great start!
Unfortunately the suitable sites are either under heavily populated areas or beautiful countryside etc. Objections on these counts were what stalled previous pilots.
“Kinda reminds of an alcoholic having to hit rock bottom before his mind, body, and spirit are clobbered by a “moment of clarity”.”
The way we’re going in this country, that could be out fate as well.
“All I heard was that this broad was worse than Boris,”
Worse by whose standards? Leftists?
There is enough shale gas to supply ALL of Britain’s needs and a generous surplus to sell abroad.
Unfortunately, the usual suspects won’t let us extract it.
1. Britain will no longer sanction Russian oil and will resume purchases immediately;
2. Migrant boats will be sunk on sight as will any NGO boats assisting them. Survivors will not be rescued.
3. Net zero is no longer Britain's goal. Oil and gas imports and exports will resume
Can Liz be trusted?
In 2000, Truss married Hugh O’Leary, a fellow accountant, at St Alfege Church, Greenwich, in a ceremony officiated by her uncle, Reverend Richard Truss;[18][218] the couple have two daughters.[219] From 2004 until mid-2005, she had an extramarital affair with the married MP Mark Field,[220] whom the Conservative Party had appointed as her political mentor. Her marriage with O’Leary survived the affair,[219] but Field’s broke down, and his wife cited his adultery with Truss in their divorce
