Soft shelling for blue crabs is fun, especially when you’re with some one who’s never done it. People are like why don’t you have a net or a gig? They don’t know the crabs shed that shell and are soft and harmless. You have to know what they look like though. Not sure if I can still catch hard blue
crabs with my hands though. It’s bee a minute.
I've got some crab pots that I drop when I go fishing. We catch a good amount of blue crab. No way I'm grabbing one with bare hands. They draw blood when they get you. They might even get the tip of a finger...No sir!
So. After all the growing up and all the learning I got. I took my kids to the beach. I said let’s go crabbing off the nearby dock. “No” they said. I said how bout for 2 hours then we go to the boardwalk. They said okay. I got spme chicken necks and string, livers too. We were blessed with good bounty that day. We spent the rest of the vacation getting crabs off that dock. Must have ate 70 crabs that trip. Now they are hooked on crabbing and fishing too, but that is another story love me sum blu crab
