Hmm, off to Daily Mail. Best news source ever (kidding about that).

Off topic warning...

My son got a call from Wells Fargo this morning and after a few minutes he realized something was terribly wrong. Apparently someone/something had cleaned his bank account out.

That’s what they said. But his scam antenna went up as he talked to whoever was on the phone and he hung up on them, called the bank, who immediately put a flag on his account.

The first phone call was a clever scam and when he hung up on them, they tried to make a $4000 withdrawal. By talking to him they got all his information. And he’s careful. I’ll have to get more information. One thing he noticed as he looked at his phone was it seemed to be routing to several places.. I don’t understand and I’m getting this info from my husband.

So, son drove to the nearest branch and all was okay, the withdrawal was stopped. His money was all there! He pulled all his money out of Wells Fargo and has opened 2 accounts at separate banks. One will be business, one will be personal.

Now, the other day, hubs noticed that someone had logged on to our account at like 4:30 am on Mon. Called the bank on Tues, they are looking into it.

So.... I guess if your bank calls you, hang up and call the bank to make sure it’s them?

This is a very sophisticated scam.
