I have to share a humorous story in this awful situation.
About 12-15 years ago we went to Tunica for a short vacay. One day wife and I decided to take a Mississippi riverboat cruise. The Captain was classic old south gentlemen with the drawl and everything including Colonel Sanders like goatee. He was giving tour notes on the cruise about the river etc when a guest noted we were only a few miles from Memphis.
Someone (maybe me can’t remember) urged him to go up to the city that we would all chip in on a few dollars.
Without missing a beat he drawled in the the Pa system “why Suh this vessel is inadequately armed for such an expedition. I would not do such a thing with out at least two 50 caliber MG and a 5 inch gun”.
The clincher is while the crowd laughed I looked at his face and he wasn’t.
