SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) – Some firearm owners in Illinois may soon need to update their Firearm Ownership Identification.
A new bill filed by Representative Terra Costa Howard (D-Glen Ellyn) would require young gun owners to apply for a FOID card again after their 21st birthday. She says this proposal would give law enforcement the chance to do another background check.
“Again and again, we see these heartbreaking crimes committed by young adults with a documented history of threatened and actual violence, including self-harm,” Costa Howard said. “Simply requiring young adults to re-apply for FOID cards after they turn 21 will create an opportunity to spot red flags and intervene to prevent tragedies.”

“Again and again, we see these heartbreaking overreaches committed by out of control government.”
“Terra Costa Howard”
Yes, she’s that type.
We see no shortage of political crimes by ‘Rats that are never appropriately punished.
She’s in the Illinois state rep 48th District. She defeated Peter Breen, who was a good rep, in 2018 and 2020, thanks largely to the influx of Chicago Democrats who fled Chi-Town to come out to DuPage County, which had been a red district for decades, until the fleeing Dems flipped it in the 20-teens. She is a rabid anti-gunner, who will say she “supports the 2nd Amendment” when she campaigns; but has never voted for or supported ANY pro-2A position.
It’s a really good idea because everyone knows it will be ultra-easy to quantify and tabulate exactly how many shootings this legislation will have prevented. NOT!!!!!!!
“Shall not be infringed”
What does FOID mean?
TIA
FOID = firearms owner ID (card)

America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards.

With Guns causing this much turmoil, I propose we make it a Felony for any employee of the State of ____ or any political subdivision thereof, to have anyone in their employ or employed on their behalf for the purpose of security or protection, to be in possession of any Firearm, Weapon or Ammunition.
Illinois foid card has been ruled unconstitutional but they claim it’s for only one person. They’ve been dragging their butts for years to get rid of it and now this new law. smh

Heck, why not make it an annual event (with a fee of course)?
Illinois already has a red flag law. This is pointless.
I had my first FOID card when I turned 16, in 1970. It’s been declared unconstitutional, but they still require it. That’s Illinois….
