Exactly right. Few people understand that. End fracking and natural gas production and food crop yields plummet by 30% to 50% (no nitrogen based fertilizers). Mass starvation follows. End cattle feedlots and starvation follows. As CA shows, there isn’t enough power to charge the 4% of cars that are EVs today. Ban gasoline cars and people can’t get to work, play or shop. Large-scale electrical grids won’t work with nothing but wind and solar — power will be expensive, scarce and rationed. Houses will be cold in winter and hot in summer. People will die.
As you say, if all this hits the fan at once, it will get REAL ugly real quickly.
Due to mass psychosis, people don’t have a clue that you cannot disrupt existing, large, highly optimized systems without major repercussions, often completely unanticipated.
Just look at the massive disruptions to supply chains due to COVID and a lot of people staying home (needlessly).
