Class of ‘86. The Eighties were pretty awesome for me. The Van Halen 1984 Concert Tour was juuust...man I want to go back so bad.
I’m a class of ‘86 guy too. I was picking on my girlfriend’s 19 year old niece a few weeks ago about how bad her generation’s music sucks and how 80’s music still reigned supreme. She admitted I was right, the new generation listens to a lot of 80’s stuff.
Then there was Twisted Sister with the We’re Not Gonna Take It music video. I still consider it the best music video ever made. I’ve been a metalhead since I was 10, and still going strong going to punk and metal gigs as often as I can.
My ears are still ringing from sitting in front of the speakers at Van Halen circa 1981.
It was a time when every high school student had “their band”, and everybody knew who everybody’s favorite band was. When we would spend hours arguing over who the better guitarist, drummer, etc. was.
Class of 87 and the music, girls with big hair that knew they were female. Great times.
