As a child I was in my grand moms garden when I stepped barefoot on a ground wasps nest. My grandmoms made a poltist and wrapped up my foot. Next day the bottom of my arch was sticking out over an inch.
Ah yes, I forgot about that.
Was wondering about that too. Did the paramedics have beesuits? How did they avoid getting stung? Once that alarm pheromone spreads the attack doesn’t stop. All honeybees that sting will die, no exceptions.
If he ‘slashed open the hive’, it does not sound like honeybees.
I want to know who counted the bee stings and how could it happen to be 20K exactly?
On their 2nd lap?
It made sense in this case. American honey bees are prone to all sorts of diseases, weaknesses and parasites that African bees were not, so why not cross breed them?
The killer bee aggression didn’t surface as a problem for years after, and even then didn’t seem to be too much of a problem at the time.
And even today, it is not unreasonable to assume that further natural cross breeding will reduce their aggression to acceptable levels.
No lemons through.
