I feel like something big is about to break on the 2020 election, and we are going to live through a very tumultuous time in American history unlike anything we have lived through.

That is exactly what I recall also. I do not blame Trump for anything that happened in the first five weeks of “flatten the curve” and “slow the spread”.
After that an honest look at the statistics, not just from Milan Italy or Wuhan China, would’ve shown that people were not dying from Covid who were younger than aged and/or basically healthy.
