I’ve read a couple articles that claim that the city is so incompetent they’re not even billing all their water customers someone unknown amount of customers I don’t even get a water bill so they don’t have a steady income to properly budget for maintenance and repairs

The idea that water service is “free” is very common among black communities. And of course cutting off water service to a black mother with 4 kids is not a good optic for city politicians. So, not only do they often not have enough revenue for operations, they can’t afford to repair or upgrade the system.

Same thing happened in Flint, Michigan, but of course leftists blamed on evil white white Republicans.
