When the US shutdown the space shuttle program, I believe we then had technology to enter outer space by another modem. There is no way in hell our intelligence community would allow us not to engage space travel and depend on a foreign government for space travel.

It is always shocking that people say, "the government needs to tell us what is going on with this or that."

Those parts of the government that know what is going on are, of course, the Pentagon and the intelligence community...and they ARE NOT in the business of telling us, the citizens, anything.

Our need to know, as citizens, is zilch, nada, nuttin'.

I heard a retired CIA officer say in a recent podcast regarding the government's position on sharing intel with the public, "tell a friend, tell an enemy."
