It’s people like Kerry that made people leave the old Dem party starting with Reagan. Kerry has always been a blue-blood elitist, and as far away from the working class as could be.

Kerry has always thought he was far better than everybody he talks down to. The fact that his paternal grandparents actually came from Vienna, and that they were Jewish, and changed their name was brought up during his Presidential campaign, I don't recall there ever being mentioned, the fact that his paternal grandfather, who had owned a successful shoe business in Boston, had walked into a public bathroom in 1921, and committed suicide by shooting himself in the head. Apparently he was having serious financial problems, and instead of being a man about it, he chose the coward's way out, and threw it all in his wife's lap. There were three children left...Eric, age 20, Mildred, age 11, and Fred, John Kerry's father, who was 6 at the time. It seems the family has always tried to hide who they really are, by putting on airs, and pretending to be what they aren't.

Kerry's father was a U.S. Diplomat. He managed to get the job through his time in the military during WWII. I wonder if that has anything to do with his pompous attitude. Most of the people who work for the State Department are elitists. Kerry grew up in a home where he was exposed to people from other countries, visiting/living/attending private schools in countries in Europe, and doing things that most kids in post-war America never got to do, not even when they became adults. Also, his mother was a Forbes born in France, so he was connected to money from the time he was born. To me, Kerry always believed himself better, and smarter than everyone else. Donald Trump was also born into wealth, and grew up a privileged kid, went to private schools, but the difference between him and Kerry are like night and day. I have never once felt that Donald Trump has talked down to me. I see him as an equal, and he treats everyone he meets like they are his equal too.
