This is a tragedy. All indications are that the mother expected to keep this baby alive. But what really surprises me is the birth was on Aug 1, and already the full names of the two EMS attendents are being released to the public.
I would have expected all to remain confidential “until the investigation has been completed”.
It looks bad for the attendants, but I dont have all the facts to consider.
I’m guessing they focused on the Mom because they presumed the Baby was already dead.
I don’t get that sense at all, lee. The fact that the baby was in the toilet when the EMT’s arrived would seem to militate against that.

What indications? Leaving the baby in a toilet is hardly one, and we have no indication that EMS was called for anything other than helping HER. Did she once ask, “where’s my baby?”
Was the mother in critical condition? Few women who give birth are. A baby in a toilet is certainly in critical condition.
Maybe it was so obscured by bloody water that the EMTs didn’t see it, thought they were dealing with an early miscarriage.
For the sake of the mother, treat the baby with reverence, even if you think it dead. No toilet.
There was an EMT in NJ who basically ignored the bloody bag in the corner when his sister gave birth - took her to the hospital, and left the nearly full term baby to die.
