A hit piece on the US Military’s most elite, effective and feared special force. Not shocked.
Those guys are not just big, fit dummies. They are also intelligent. They are elite in every way. They know the costs and the risks. They are some of the worlds last true warriors. And I am glad they are on our team. I don’t care what they do to get through training and become what they are. I give them a lot of latitude. They’ve earned it.
As for the occasional training fatalities, it’s sad. It’s unfortunate. But, dare I say, it is a risk for the type of training they have decided to do. They also must know the danger of what they are training to do and could more easily die in battle. Take care of their families and move on.
Tell the left to go back to their pajama couch parties and suck each other’s thumb in a safe space.
You hit the nail on the head. I was in the AF Special Ops and Rescue for over 30 years and dealt with SEAL teams on many occasions. These guys are so far above and beyond what people think they know about them. These guys aren’t just special operators and killing machines (both of which they do very well), they are poets, musicians, writers...I was astounded the depths of talents outside of the military that these guys possessed. There is something very special and unique about each and every one of them. I always looked forward to working with them because I knew that they would have my back if anything went south on a mission. I have the utmost respect for them and their counterparts in the other services.
More military members die in training accidents than combat. The reason is simple. Combat is not all the time. But training for combat is,
I have a friend who is an operator in the Army. This guy is wicked smart with multiple graduate degrees.
