Would she rather have perpetual high inflation or hyperinflation? The only thing I'm surprised about is that the inflation chickens have taken so long to come home and roost. The Fed has been juicing the economy with artificially low interest rates since the dotcom bubble at the end of the 20th century. It's just most of the inflation has been isolated in housing and stock bubbles until now.
