I understand the vaccines were being tested in 2020 with approval for mRNA vaccines coming in late Dec 2020.
In order to not muddy up the analysis and to see what the “baseline” doc death rate was it’s probably better to analyze the years where no vaccine was available to anyone, anywhere, Which for sure would have been 2019 and before.

FWIW, the initial recipients, mainly frontline workers, weren’t injected prior to mid December 2020. So given various delays in symptoms and reporting, I’m comfortable moving the effective timeframe ahead to 2021.
