How’s this for trusting medical experts? Hubby got a new evil doer, uh, doctor who put him on a low carb diet. Yea, I’ve been trying to get him on it with me since forever. So, hubby gave me the list with LOW CARB as the title but nowhere does it say the number of carbs per day and most foods don’t show a serving size. The top of page 1 on Dr. Expert’s list says hubby can have 1/2 cup dried apricots... that’s 41 g carbs which is around the daily limit according to every source including the Mayo Clinic. He can have 2-4 bagels at each meal. He can have rice, pasta, cereal and potatoes but can’t have celery or mushrooms. He can have peanut butter but no peanuts. Except for peanut butter, everything has to be fat free despite having more carbs and unpronounceable chemicals than the regular product. Grrr, my blood pressure is rising and am getting a headache just typing this. I gave up arguing when I realized Dr. Expert isn’t the cook in this house.
Stay on that diet for twenty years and you will end up diabetic. I’m 75, went zero carb (carnivore) four years ago. Got healthy and lost 50 pounds.
