C-Span videos on Populism

(There's no link in the header to a search for "C-Span Populism"; I will put it in a comment in HTML.) As a populist, I learned that elites do have a legitimate interest in avoiding being overwhelmed by the numerically superior common people. But in what I would remark as this highly, technologically "articulated" world (everything like a linked and hinged part in a vastly enormous machine), elites have the unfair advantage of having the power to permanently rig the game. More important to me than Plato's 5 political classes (in the notes below) is the several traditional occupational classes of: military-nobility (sworn to put themselves in harm's way), merchant-bankers, artisans-manufacturers and peasant-farmers, among others. (My class is clerk, but not a priest.) In the robust early middle ages, when the Lord on his manor was surrounded by peasants to be fed by and to support militarily, there was almost no money and even little barter, and the later fairs which could be dominated by merchant-bankers, tended to be outlawed. Whereas today the 2,800 billionaire Oligarchs of Davos & the World Economic Forum, really, salesmen and avaricious gougers, dominate our whole world, thus cutting out the artisan-manufactureres, Wall St. vs. Main St. and the honor-driven military-nobility. This is even more important to realize, than Pluto's 5 political classes.

TOPICS: Conspiracy; History; Society
KEYWORDS: aristocracy; democracy; oligarchy; tyranny
The philosopher Plato discusses five types of regimes (Republic, Book VIII; Greek: πέντε πολιτεῖαι, pente politeiai). They are aristocracy, timocracy, oligarchy, democracy, and tyranny.

The 2,800 billionaire Oligarchs of Davos & the World Economic Forum can get by with a relatively small support staff and stable of Instagram concubines on their Pleasure Planet.

They just have to keep the peasants from realizing this.

Well, pretty boring, unless while you’re working you have time to lend an ear to one of the many videos and get the long listen.

But how’s this for an idea Molotov cocktail: well known heretic E. Michael Jones mantains that there’s good cui-bono that FDR regarded Huey Long as sufficient threat to his 2nd campaign that he put the black spot on him. There are 2 movies about Huey Long, All the King’s Men with Broderick Crawford and Lion in the Streets with James Cagney.

Conservative academics tend to be anti populist because they’re pro capital to the extreme.

When conservative academics talk about subsidies to agriculture and industry, take it with a ‘grain of salt’ because no group in world history has received more subsidies than ‘Mr and Mrs Academic.’(Many of them should be considered hypocrites by not acknowledging the government money they live off)

Many of them go further and have an ‘out right’ hatred of labor and their contributions to commercial operations.

It takes both capital & labor to produce the goods & services civilization depends on. They’re *almost equal partners in these endeavors.

* I give a slight edge to capital over labor because actual capitalists are rare while labor is plentiful.
