In Indiana EBT reload is spread out through the month by first letter of last name. That’s to avoid a “land rush” at the stores.
Not sure about other states.

Once between jobs I served delivering pizzas doe Domino's.
We understood that in CT, after the second Friday of the month we would get a rush from people getting their welfare checks.
