Jun 18, 2022 Braddock, PA....WOW... This place feels like a ghost town. This is an eastern suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and is located Allegheny County. So many abandoned / dilapidated houses and buildings, and I think it's amazing! Definitely has an eerie vibe to it as I barely seen anyone outside at all, would you live here? Let's check it out

That is how John Fetterman “rebuilt” his town when he was mayor.

I like a fixer-upper as much as the next person. After watching over half the video...I saw little if anything worth saving. Most structures looked downright unsafe. The big question is...why even bother?

Give the remaining residents a week to move out of the city...and then nuke it.

America, one big decaying and dying giant brought to you by Democrats “progressive” politics. Starting to look like a dead carcass.

Braddock was a lost cause long before Fetterman became its mayor. He did improve the town’s image to a minor extent. I’ll give him that. But it’s like putting lipstick on a pig. It’s still a pig. Nothing to brag about.

He is the one who said it rebuilt that.

“During my 14 years as mayor, we rebuilt Braddock.”

Doesn’t look rebuilt to me.

Now he wants to do the same to the country? No thanks.

At one time Detroit was arguably, easily, the wealthiest city on the planet.

Another sad tale is Argentina. (Argent means “silver” in Spanish). It was the 2nd or 3rd wealthiest country on the planet almost within living memory. Beef exports, high standard of living. Stable government. Then the do-gooders and levelers showed up, apparently.

The takeaway is - It doesn’t take very long to wreck a city, or even a whole country.

But it takes a LONG time to recover. Decades, even centuries. If ever. This is why stupid leftist pie in the sky BS needs to be quashed.

Look at what even a single, stupid “progressive” policy like Prohibition alone did to the beer and tavern industry. It took maybe 80 years before small independent breweries sprang up again.

Fetterman is a POS commie, but I’m not sure anyone can fix a declining northeastern mill town.

Some years ago on a road trip, I stayed at a Motel 6 type motel in Frackville, PA off of I-81 not far from Hazleton. There was one of those Dutch Kitchen diner type restaurants nearby. After having dinner there, I decided to take a walk around town to look for a place to have a beer before heading back to the motel. It was so eerie and deserted. The town looked like something out of the 1950s with these antiquated store fronts. Like that town from "Back To The Future" movie. Even had a clock tower I believe. It was near sunset and sky was sort of purple as there were thunderstorms in the area and you could hear the rolls of thunder off in the distance. I did find a bar and I was literally the only customer in there, though a few more people drifted in during my stay. There was a side room where they had a pool table and you could hear the occasional clacking of the billiard balls as somebody was playing a game.

Once the rain stopped, I finished my second beer and lurched back into the street to head back to the hotel. By now it was totally dark and the wet sidewalks glistened under the street lamps. Nobody else out on the street except for a stray dog that darted into an alley and only the occasional car going by.

Just one of those quaint little Pennsylvania towns where nothing really happens. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Well, that's Frackville, PA for you.

IMO our country benefitted so much from all the immigrants who came here and built neighborhoods, churchs, schools, shopping areas, restaurant....

may they be Polish or Irish or German or Russian, etc, these neighborhoods reflected their heritage....

the cities and our stupid society chased them away with high taxes and unlivable conditions....

Then don't put out whoppers like this...

"During the ten years since Fetterman took office, Braddock has slowly rebuilt itself"

" Motivated to do more to address the inequality that was plaguing his community, he won Braddock’s crowded primary by a single vote in 2005, and remained Mayor for 12 years, during which he rebuilt the steel industry town"

"During my 14 years as mayor, we rebuilt Braddock"

Also, Oz seems unaware of Fetterman’s history here in PA. Fetterman literally rebuilt Braddock as mayor. His wife ran a free store, with only rules to be kind and give back.https://t.co/BphSutSC2J https://t.co/36rheuMaBt— Sarah Reese Jones (@PoliticusSarah) August 17, 2022

This is what a dead, western Pennsylvania steel town looks like. Fetterman did nothing for this place because he’s a typical Democrat who hasn’t a clue how free enterprise and business revitalization take place. There is no hope for Braddock. How can Fetterman think he can run on his record as mayor?

I was brought up in the outskirts of a western PA town like this. Major industry left and the place went to hell—gangs, prostitution, drugs. The Mafia literally ran the politics and the crime there. It was a hell hole and my family left when my dad retired. My parents used to vote Republican (a lost cause there). Their registration was loudly declared when they stepped up to the voting booth. My mother said people used to turn around and stare at them as if they were aliens from another planet.

By the way, Fetterman’s kids currently attend Winchester Thurston—a pricey prep school in Pittsburgh. (Who paid for that? Fetterman’s Daddy Warbucks?) They wouldn’t be caught dead in the Woodland Hills school district which is primarily minority students where they should be attending. And Fetterman’s against funding charter schools—says it will hurt public schools where kids need to be indoctrinated with the latest woke idiocy.

If Oz can’t beat this guy, Pennsylvania and the U.S. are in big trouble.
