That seems guranteed to lead to tired doctors making unfixable mistakes! They are only human.

The hospitals will probably say:
‘It’s always been this way. It was how I first experienced it decades ago. Now it’s your turn to suffer, I mean to learn!”

The alleged theory is that medical professors want doctors to see the progression of signs and symptoms over a 24 hour period.

Anyway, I know USA interns and residents have been working 24 hour shifts since at least the 1960s.
