I faked my own death to get out of that Columbia House record thingy, back in the 80s.

My mother called them, and told them I was a minor, which was true. That did it.

I got my free albums as open reel, and then started buying the membership fulfillment as vinyl records, which cost less. The 14 year-old me thought I was beating the system. I also got double albums that counted as one whenevr possible (Tommy the Movie, Frampton Comes Alive)
