Yeah. That fairing and those saddle bags aren't working for me.
As shipped from the factory, yes, they comply with the noise law.
After they’ve been modified either by the dealer or the owner, they no longer do, but there’s very little or no enforcement in most states.

About the bike, except for the nonmetallic paint and those two purses mounted on either side of the back fender I like it.
I’ve spent many years mocking the design of import bike saddlebags......Harley made a mistake with these IMO.
A guy where I used to work painted his 75 Camaro with out-of-date Zinc Chromate, (we were a military sub-contractor so it couldn’t be used), it looked pretty cool, actually!.....................
A reject Rate.. THE CYLINDER WAS OUT OF ROUND.. meaning that should have been caught before it was put into an assembly.. IE Quality Control from the Cylinder Manufacture should have REJECTED the Cylinder and it should have never even made to the assembly line, let alone into a bike.
I’ve owned probably close to 100 different things with Gasoline Engines in my life, ranging from lawn equipment to Conversion vans.... I’ve had only 1, 1 foul plugs because the cylinder installed in it from the factory was not the correct shape and size...
Harley may not be as bad as the AMF years, but it proved to me, not only is their QC a joke, but taking care of their customers is too.
I think they are going for the ‘BMW’ look.................đ
God, what an ugly bike.
BMW: Bikes Made Weird............................đ
Still like to know what year and model it was if you don’t mind.....just curious
Bikes are hard enough to see, much less painting them GRAY!
Silver and Gray are the two hardest colors to see on cloudy days!..................
Sweet ride, but I wish I still had my original condition, ‘36 Indian Chief.
My dream bike!..........(sigh!)..................
I’ve never owned a BMW bike but I know people that have and do......they tell me there’s a reason BMW is referred to as the Cadillac on motorcycles.
There touring line is very nice.
I just bought a Hyundai Elantra and that was a color choice. Hyundai called it "Electric Shadow". I didn't go with it, but it looked decent on the Elantras. It does well showing angles and creases in a design.
95 Sportster 1200
Decent enough bike all in all.. but me having to pay to repair something Harley admittedly screwed up at the factory but didn’t cover to fix... Nope, never again.
Seems that Steve McQueen liked his cars gray.
They didn’t stand out so much as he Drove them.
117 c.i. and it weighs 694 lbs........in comparison my ‘09 touring only had a 96 c.i. and weighed slightly over 800 lbs and it would scare the hell outta me.
This bike will more than likely haul ass roght off the show room floor and after a little tweaking...well, look out.
When someone asks me why I don't ride a Harley, I give five reasons:
1. They're too heavy
2. They're too slow
3. They're too expensive
4. They handle like crap
5. They don't like roads and trails I like.
That said, they're fine for the "cruiser", "road sofa", "look-at-me make noise" and/or "I am a bad ass" crowd.
Yeah that shouldn’t have ever happened. I take it it was no longer under warranty when the defect was discovered.
