Yeah democrats in NY are good at manufacturing a turnout via mail in ballots. They can produce an infinite amount of them.

Actually it was often stated ,correctly, after Georgia passed its newvoting law that Georgia was easier to vote by mail in than NY. It was embarrassing to the outraged dems to have to admit this.

Democrats get their people to vote by voting for them.

If they won’t go out to the polls themselves, the DNC will be happy to cast their “mail in” ballot for them.

Based on 2020 Presidential results, this district is 3 points more Republican than the national average. It’s not a Democrat district.

What we are seeing in recent special elections is a huge disproportionate turnout in white liberal enclaves, such as:
Ulster, NY
Ithaca, NY
Lincoln, NE
Rochester, MN

It’s quite stunning how popular killing the unborn truly is among women in this country. Apparently the overturning of Roe v. Wade caused some serious emotional upheavals among them.

However: Here in the Gay State (Massachusetts) our legislature (99% Rat) and our Trump hating RINO Governor just enacted a bill to give wetbacks driver's licenses. Soon after an effort to get a ballot question rescinding that law was begun. It was just announced that they got almost double the number of signatures needed to get it on the ballot.

But it must be noted that it's distinctly possible that our bull dyke Attorney General will find a way to reject the signatures.

But it's still noteworthy that in Maoist Massachusetts an issue like this can be supported by so many people.

Yes - is it not very interesting that any late ‘surge’ in vote counting usually favors the democRAT ...

What, statistically are the odds ...

This article is a bunch of crap. I grew up near this area. Here’s why the D won, there is a city in the district called Kingston which has a huge black population. There is a state college campus in New Paltz which adds significantly to the liberal voting base.

In the more rural areas of Ulster County, the old time family farms and orchards are being bought up by libs from NYC looking to escape the cesspool but yet still be close enough to enjoy the things in the City they love (NYC is about an hour and a half drive straight south on the Thruway). The fact that a Dem won a seat already held by Democrat isn’t proving anything.

A democrat held onto a democrat seat. Wow. This means we are doomed.

Abandon hope!!

Pay no attention to GOP victories!! They are meaningless. Flipping school boards in Florida, Cheney’s massive loss, the victory in another special election in NY never happened.

It’s over.

It’s a belleweather.

Abortion is the only issue.

It’s done.

Why would voters think abortion is a federal matter now that the Supreme Court tossed it to the states?

One - because they are stupid.

Two - because the Democrats have promised a law to Federalize abortion up to birth, probably as an amendment to the Civil Rights Act (to give it the appearance of constitutionality).

My own opinion has been Senate D+2 (52D, 48R) and House +10R (R221, D214), but although this result in NY is a probable one-off, we may be looking at a potential Ireland-like baby killing wave that will allow the Democrats to keep the House.

Myth: This special election was lost because of "redistricting".

Fact: This special election was run under EXACTLY the same lines as existed before redistricting. November's election will be the first one under the new district lines.

Myth: This is a "Democrat district".

Fact: Under the lines used on Tuesday (the same ones used going back to 2012) it was rated as R+3. So it actually favors REPUBLICANS slightly. Trump actually won -- by nearly 7 points -- this allegedly "Democrat district" in 2016 and only narrowly lost it in 2020.

True, this was a GOP LOSS, plain and simple. I think McCarthy has been "quiet quitting" here. This seat should have been won, period.

If true. America values baby killing over prosperity. Plan accordingly.

I realize this IS New York after all, but is a squishy GOPe Chamber of Commerce anti-conservative like Molinaro really the best we can do in the Hudson Valley? This ain’t the Bronx.

Results from Tuesday say: no.

Results from November, when Molinaro will be running again in a different (but similar) district will likely say the same thing. These two districts — 18th and 19th — are marginal and that means winnable. It would help to have a better candidate, but for 2022 we are stuck with this schmuck.

We need former Congressman John Sweeney to run again. He's the one that Gillibrand used illegal 911 tapes to beat and start her "career".

Was it a surge in voters, or just in votes?

EVERY STATE, EVERY VOTE is manipulated and the results carefully considered before the final count is released. Beleive it or not at our countries peril.
