“Gee, I guess the meat puppet didn’t ask Nancy....”

And to be honest with her, she’s right. But congress can’t cancel a personal citizen debt either. The loaning agencies are financing companies like Splash Financial, Creditable, Citizens’ bank, Earnest, and Laurel Road. None of these are responsible to the colleges or the federal government. They are a private business. So that money still has to be repaid by contract. What Uncle Sugar is doing is assuming the loan for the debtor. So payment for those loans have not been magically cast off into space. And as congress has assumed the loans, it is now their responsibility to get them paid. All they are cancelling is the former students’ responsibilities for them.

If you go down the aisle asking for the donations to pay this bill the federal government has assumed, you’re going to get some blank looks. Then later smiles when they take the money out of taxpayer funds to cover their election year pandering to assume the taxpayers’ debts. How does it feel to be a victim of identity theft cause that’s all it is?
