I have my doubts that the goal is to create a “sustainable” and low-cost energy system. I think this is like most other leftist plans where the goal is to destroy Western Civilization.
The never ending search for the perepetual motion machine.
“..I think this is like most other leftist plans where the goal is to destroy Western Civilization....”
^THIS^....trust the science.
As the author has laid out, the “science” just isn’t there to meet their moronic public-stated “goals”. Anyone with an understanding of the Conservation of Energy (1st law of Thermodynamics) has been laughing their arses off at these morons for quite some time now.
Oh....wait!!! Such laws and mathematics were researched, studied and written by racist, old, privileged white men so they must all be false, shunned and ignored.
Hint: this is not going to end well.
Perhaps the WEF and various leftists not have written in their mission statements, in so words, that they intend to “destroy” the capitalist system, but that is always the consequence.
What they seem to want to do is twist capitalism into a service not for individuals, but as an agency of the almighty State, state-owned or managed capitalism (”crony capitalism”).
Nuclear energy is both sustainable and by far the cheapest means of all to generate electricity on a 24/7/365 basis for YEARS before refueling. But not necessarily the older uranium-fueled Light Water Reactors. Thorium-fueled molten salt atomic reactors are far safer, leave very little radioactive “ash” and have the added advantage of being able to use up the “spent” uranium fuel rods, a product of the uranium-fueled LWRs, as these are needed to initiate the chain reaction for the radioactive decay of thorium.
But the growth rate of oil and gas production has been shrinking for decades. The easy stuff has been found. Our society depends on a 3% yearly growth model. You can’t have ever shrinking hydrocarbon growth and ever expansion of economies.
