I always loved bound books. However, now in my dotage, I love having access to e-books without having to store a bunch of hardbacks in a condo with no room for them. My last move I got rid of a whole bunch of books in order to not have to move them (heavy and occupy too much space).
Kept some for sentimental reasons or important reads or lots of pics (I love history and also keep cookbooks). But I feel greatly relieved to have uncluttered my life from so many books I would most likely never read again, and that I can always get on-line.
I love having access to books on-line at the drop of a hat. Books from everywhere in the world about everything in the world. Who could ask for anything more?

Our last move we got rid of a ton of books — both mine and Hubby’s. He’s a physicist and had an extensive library for his career, many textbooks that haven’t been in print for decades. We have a place in town that will buy old books, either for cash or for credit in the store. We took the first load and walked out with over $1,000. I don’t know how they determine value on the very old books, but they do the research within a half hour.
I kept my Rush Limbaugh books, and several other that are important to me including cookbooks, but scaled down a lot. Reading used to be my favorite thing in the world, but now I spend more time quilting. Our hospital gift shop sells used books for $1, so I’ll buy and read them, then re-donate back to them.
Looking at moving again, I’m facing a monster of a fabric stash for quilting. Have GOT to pare it down!
