Car is upside down in only 14' of water. We have CONFIRMED Kiely is inside. Family Notified Law Enforcement on their way. ... We will be on scene the rest of the day, will have a live stream tomorrow, and will make an announcement as to what time later this afternoon.
Damn. I was hoping she’d be found alive. My condolences to the family.
This was a nice 16yo kid. The jokes are uncalled for.
You’re a twisted freak!
Was Ted Kennedy driving?
Glad they found her as not knowing is much worse. We have had contact with Adventures With Purpose this past year as they contacted us with help in trying to find my father-in-law that disappeared 20 years ago here in Central Texas. They are a great group of young men and did their best to search all the waterways around our area but were not successful in locating him or his car. We were very grateful for their help and if you are interested in our story look up “Nolan Bass” on their You Tube channel.
“what the hell is wrong with you”?
I’d like to know what the hell’s the matter with you for posting that. What did I say that prompted that?
I first heard of Adventures With Purpose when they were in Lakeland, FL looking for Jan Smith who had been missing for ten months. After two days they found her and her car submerged in an 7’ deep retention pond. They began as an environmental cleanup team and kept finding cars underwater. It seems every time they search for someone they find more cars. At another location they searched in Lakeland they found two more cars.
Adventures With Purpose has a stated goal of "Bringing them home." It provides closure to the families whether the person was missing for 4 months or forty years. Another point is that they have made some fairly dangerous dives to find out if the cars they find on their sonar belongs to/with the missing individuals.
They are from Oregon but have traveled all over the US to help the families and the local LEA's with their expertise of underwater search and rescue/recovery.
Guess you missed the case timeline link I posted.
I had questioned if LE had taken the time to look for tire tracks and disturbed rocks at the boat ramp. The water is very low so the drop off end of the boat ramp is several feet away from the water. Apparently, LE didn’t bother looking so destroyed evidence since they drove all their vehicles down there and didn’t find her. The FBI was supposed to have been working the case so why didn’t they send in divers two weeks ago? SMH.
Thank goodness for Adventures with Purpose guys. They’re a wonderful group.
Bkmk
They are wonderful. They do cold cases but agreed to work this new current case. They found her after LE and FBI couldn’t in that same spot.
Hugs to your family.
Know where that lake is and am watching the video now. Those guys from AWP are such caring people. Sorry your father-in-law. Wish he’d been found.
I posted the timeline for her case in post #1.
There was the one recovery they did a month or so ago of a young man iirc. The parents had heard all sorts of stories and rumors that he had joined the French Foreign Legion or similar stuff and had just gone away and they waited for him to come back. But other relatives thought he might have committed suicide or had an accident so they asked AWP to come search.
It was really difficult watching the searchers talk with the parents due to the parents not wanting him to be found as they still had hope he was alive and off somewhere.
They did find him, and iirc he probably committed suicide.
I think AWP has started using the term “bringing the family some answers” now instead of “closure”. I mean, we know what both mean - but perhaps families (or a therapist?) have told them “well, we’ll never get over our son dying at such a young age”.
Maybe they still use the term closure too, but I just found their change in terminology interesting and very respectful as they do more and more of this type of stuff and learn more of the deeper family and psychological issues.
I’ve been watching them on youtube for past two years. I believe this is the 24th case they have solved.
I watch him and also Chaos Divers, and a couple of others that look for missing people in water.
There are a lot of waterways and searching them all takes time and money. AWP are highly trained in what they do and ue specialized equipment to make searches most police depts cannot.
Sadly, there are a bunch of youtubers spouting off nonsense about this, for weeks.
It seems this woman was a free spirit partier from the interviews of friends and acquaintances. She was observed being intoxicated and most likely high due to the confirmed drugs at the party. Most likely she got into her car in this state and made a wrong turn in the dark, ended up in the water and was trapped within seconds. Although, interviews, video, and other info has to be examined first.
This would not be the first time someone was intoxicated, went into the water, and located by AWP later.
You are right. You see it time and again in the people they find in the water. Suicides or drunk/drugs.
