No, but because sitting scared of everything on earth is how cultures DIE. Daring to do what "Mommy says that's not SAFE" is how we as a species actually learns how to do things later.
To try and fail is to learn. To NOT try is to DIE, either literally, or at the very least spiritually.
Riding a cycle on the top of a bridge is different from grabbing a sharpened stick to attack a cave bear threatening your family as is hunting with same to bring home elk meat in prehistoric times.
