We live on a small farm. It has a well and a pond. A few years ago we had a drought and the level of the pond dropped quite a bit. Our daughter suggested that we run a hose from our well to the pond. We still tease her about that and we did explain the whole theory of water table. And BTW, she was in her thirties when she made that suggestion.
About ten years back one of the guys in the office bought his first house here in southern NH out in the country with well and septic. He called one of the older guys the day after he and his wife moved in to ask:
“Who do you call to fill up your well ?”
The older guy knew he had a fish on, so he decided to play with him for awhile. He asked the younger guy if he knew where the spigot/faucet on the outside of the house was? Also, did he no where the well head was? He proceeded to instruct him how to take off the cover to the well head and hook up a hose to the spigot. He told him to give him a call back in about an hour. Meanwhile, the older guy told everybody else here in the office about the prank.
Ten years later we still kid the guy about it.
