I have it in hard copy and on Kindle. Other good reads about subs are Blind Man's Buff, Clear the Bridge! and Through hell and deep water.

I most highly recommend ANYTHING by James D Hornfischer.

“Thunder Below” has been on my WWII book rack for a long time-—heckuva story. It originally caught my attention because I’d worked on its Nuke sister the SSN 596. Interestingly, and maybe in a connected sort of way, much of the work we did was oriented around making the 596 even quieter. I still have a sample of a special tool I designed to work on a system-—used it in a class I taught.
