He’s playing for the Browns, isn’t that punishment enough?

The other thing to note was one of those Texas grand juries that chose not to indict him was convened after he was traded to Cleveland. So it’s not like the home field advantage.

In criminal court he was acquitted. In civil court he settled. In the NFL justice system he is guilty? It makes no sense to me because I have seen plenty of videos of NFL players punching and kicking tiny females and what I can see with my own eyes as having happened (assaults) and they walk away with a couple of weeks suspension? We will never know what happened in those rooms but rape and violence did not happen. He was young, stupid and totally misread what these massages entail. Probably because he had at least one massage that entailed just that! He didn’t sucker punch a woman in an elevator. He didn’t kick a woman in a hotel hallway. He didn’t hurt anyone but himself. Bring back the Morals Clause! That’ll end all the bad behavior

You make it sound as if he is being fined millions and suspended over false allegations.

I highly doubt that.

Nobody is a good enough athlete to be allowed to be a barbarian off the field.

Exactly. Al Gore had a lower chakra problem and he’s worshipped by the left. I don’t have a source but I read an article that stated that some of the ads for the women showed the women in lingerie. Bad decisions by DeShaun you bet. Everything else including criminal behavior I’m not so sure.

Wow. You’ve gone full woke activist. Maybe you can start a channel with Kaepernick. Goodell has done everything in his power to protect Watson. They didn’t even do a thorough investigation. Watson was a highly paid athlete. He could have had a massage by the highly skilled team therapist for free. But he didn’t do that. If he didn’t do that, he could have paid to have a well-qualified massage therapist of his own. But he didn’t do that. Instead he went to over 66 unlicensed massage therapist who are on social media in the course of a little over a year. I guess you think that sounds like a good idea.

What process? The NFL changes its process every single time. And they didn’t even go by the process this time they did it in his favor and DeShaun Watson’s favor. They stretch the investigation over a year and a half which they aren’t supposed to do. They tried to make it go away. They didn’t even do a full investigation or present everything to the judge. Ezekiel Elliott was suspended six games even though the NFL’s own female investigators said he was innocent. Other players are judged by a harsher standard. A couple players got a DUI and they were suspended indefinitely over the course of three or four years. The NFL did everything in its power to minimize the punishment this guy got. Why should different players in different teams Go by different standards? Watson gets a certain treatment and players on the Ravens and the Patriots get lenient treatment while players on other teams have to go full bore

Lol. Why didn’t Watson go to a trained professional, when he had the means? He went to more than 66 on social media in a little over a year. You have an explanation for that? It’s extremely clintonian. You probably think Bill Clinton is innocent too.

You kind of sound as hypocritical as the left. Because they ignored Bill Clinton and Al Gore doing this. And you ignored DeShaun Watson doing it just because he’s a republican. Oh wait he’s not a republican.

Apples and oranges. Watson did go to a trained professional. The question I am asking is a professional what?

Clinton did not go to a professional.

Baker Mayfield is a good QB and he’s a high-character guy. He was playing badly hurt much of last season too, I understand. I Can’t understand why they didn’t stay with him.

“There was plenty of evidence of his guilt. He was a well-paid professional athlete most of them get massages from a professional massage therapist who works for the team for free. If not they get it from a well-qualified massage therapist. He went on social media and found unlicensed massage therapist and he had 66 of them in a little over a year.”

Guilt for what? Crimes? Or sins?

Maybe society would do well to make fornication and adultery punishable crimes. But they aren’t currently.

Prostitution is a crime in most places and situations, but today’s hookup culture is not much different than legalized prostitution.

But my point is that there is no evidence he sexually assaulted these women.

Watson is a victim of his own poor judgment, but the lawsuits came because he has deep pockets and Buzbee is a scumbag mob lawyer with no personal ethics. The massive negative press against him was because of his professed faith as a Christian.

I do have some inside information on this situation which I don’t want to go into right now, but I know that Watson had a reputation in social circles I am familiar with that he was not into drugs, alcohol, or wild parties. But he clearly had some secret sins that got exposed.

He’s paid a big price for this, but he now has an opportunity to put it behind him.

It gives the appearance of the job being a cover for expensive call-girl services.

I agree that this is NOT the line of work I would recommend to any female family members or friends.

I think Watson has a lust/sex problem that the majority of men have. He also happened to be rich, famous, and in great shape. Guys like him have more temptation than most of us can imagine. Women constantly pursue his type.

I think he did some immoral, unChristian things, but there is no evidence of the claims of him assaulting these women. That’s all.

I also think it’s good that he missed opportunities to play and lost millions because it may be how God keeps him out of Hell. And that’s a lot more important than football, fame, fortune, and pleasure.

Is Lawrence of Arabia a good flick? I have the book Seven Pillars of Wisdom, but haven’t read it yet...

It is considered one of the great films. It is not a straightforward biography but rather a character study. Seven Pillars was used as a source by the screenwriter. Several of the characters in the film are composites of several real people distilled into one fictional character (Omar Sharif's Ali is just such a character). A very good analysis of the film can be found here in this video - Lawrence of Arabia | Tragedy of the Conqueror | An Analysis of Identity, Themes, Symbolism & Imagery

It is from a YouTube channel called Empire of the Mind. The guy who runs it looks at things from a philosophical viewpoint. Some of his videos are about philosophy, some are movie reviews. He also has a good piece on the film version of Lord of the Rings.

You couldn’t be more clueless.

A GRAND JURY decided NO CRIMINAL charges were warranted.

“On Monday, Judge Sue L. Robinson(Appointed by NFL and NFLPA) found, as to the factual allegations against Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson, that he did what the league accused him of doing. Her decision to suspend Watson only six games arose from separate considerations. Specifically, she concluded that Watson engaged in a “non-violent sexual assault.”

The NFL(Goodell) doesn’t think the punishment suggested by this specially appointed judge is enough. I’ll repeat, since you appear to be slow, GOODELL is UNHAPPY with the Judges recommendation and wants MORE PUNISHMENT exacted on Watson. Reports are Goodell wanted a full season ban and millions of dollars worth of fines.

I never condoned what Watson did. HOWEVER, he hired “massage therapists”, some of whom reportedly advertised in their underwear. They did what he asked. They could have said NO and walked away. He paid for their services.

NO crimes.
NO violence.
NO harm.

Please justify the “settlement” these woman were paid. Please justify the massive payout to their lawyer.

Explain to me with a straight face how the NFL and Goodell can judge this one player as violating the “morals” of the NFL.
