The book World War Z has a segment talking about a young Japanese man living at his parents home in his bedroom. He spent his days tracking online stories of the zombies progress eradicating mankind and trying to read through false info and get the truth of what was going on.
Fewer and fewer regular posters continued to post. And then one day his mother stopped bringing him food.
That is what online watching of the war is, compared to blood and territory.
