The Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union initiates discussions with other EU countries on a ban on the issuance of Schengen visas for Russians at an informal meeting in Prague at the end of August. It is reported by AFP with reference to the statement of Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky.

“A complete ban on the issuance of Russian visas by all EU member states,” TASS quoted him as saying.

According to the Czech minister, this step could become another sanction against Russia.
