New York has become the haven of violence as it was in the 60’s and 70’s. I think the mayor’s at that time were democrats.
Not all our “mayor’s” [sic] at that time were RATS.
Fun City was also blessed with John V. Lindsay, idiot savant Congresscritter from the Silk Stocking district of Manhattan who carried the “R” brand for the GOP until late in his first administration. At the same time NY State had such other Republican luminaries as Gov. Nelson A Rockefeller and Senator Jacob K. Javits.
The only time in my life that I voted for a RAT was trying to thwart Lindsay’s second term. The R candidate at that time had no chance at all but managed to split the anti-Lindsay vote
