Not looking good since Murkowski only needs 6% more to select her as the second choice in the second round, since 44% voting are voting for her in this first round. The Democrat has 6% - it is very unlikely they would select Tshibaka as their second choice.

Something would have to happen to sour their inclination to vote for Murkowski, but sticking it to Trump is probably a strong motivator. Trump motivates the base of the opposition as much as his supporters - this rallied the opposition to unite behind Murkowski as the most viable option of opposing Trump.

Ranked choice doesn’t yet apply in the Senate race. This is the first round / primary to whittle it down to 4 candidates for the general election.

This is not a Republican Primary.

Murkowski is getting nearly 100% of the Democrat votes. They have decided almost unanimously to support Murkowski based on these results.

Ranked choice voting has got to go away, this is going to do NOTHING but elect Democrats.

There is nothing more dangerous than an ill informed voter. This ballot initiative passed by 1 percentage point in 2020. Thiis was passed on the back of ill informed Republicans.

It was extremely stupid of Alaska voters to go along with it. I default to NO on all ballot measures unless there’s a really strong case for it.

Voting multiple times for multiple candidates in a single race - who could think that makes sense?

It will probably take weeks to know who won the special House election.

More results in and Murkowski continues to climb. Assuming she has this level of support in the general she will easily win unless something significant happens to tarnish her personal image - the people who vote Democrat will likely not vote for Tshibaka as their second choice and Murkowski has solidified almost 100% of the non-GOP vote. Let’s acknowledge the reality that in a convoluted primary system like this, the Trump rally served to boost Murkowski the most as it united the opposition to him around her.

More results are in from the Special Election but it is of no consequence - 100% of the vote needs to be in to start counting the second and third choices in order to determine a winner. What a ridiculous system - can’t have any idea at all who wins a race for weeks if not a month after the vote.
