Germans tend to be smarter than your average bear. But even they concede the “cunning b******s” of Switzerland (as they call them), are more clever still. (40% of Switzerland’s electricity is generated by its nuclear power plants.)
This is very good news. The global economy would have suffered a lot if Germany had gone into a self=imposed recession for such a stupid reason.

Do nuclear reactors CONSUME as much power as they generate? If so, that would be news to me. If not, they really, really, need to get rid of Habeck, even if he does wear a tie and suit during the day (most Greens in the German government don’t).

‘It’s fine to have energy policies that simply make that energy more expensive since that really only bothers the little people. But if the situation actually means no heat or lights or brownouts, well that affects even the elite. Can’t have that. Bring back the nuke and coal plants immediately.
The Energiewende in Germany has been going on for what now, 15 years and multiples of billions of Euros spent and they still can’t keep the lights on. At some point someone is going to have deliver the unpleasant news that windmills and solar panels are a joke. It will be an unpleasant task.
When Putin throws Germany into the deep freeze this winter, hopefully every German Greenie will get tarred and feathered. Greenies are the enemy of all advanced nations. Poor ones too, like Sri Lanka.
