Adèle Milloz plummeted to her death along with a friend she was hiking with on Friday.

Their bodies were discovered Friday evening, and officials believed they were roped together when they took the fatal plunge.

It is unclear why they fell, and authorities have said they are investigating. Some hikes were cancelled in the aftermath of the fatal accident, according to reports.

Milloz, who grew up in the Alps, won several European and world titles in ski mountaineering, a sport where players hike up a mountain and ski down, according to The Sun.

She was no longer competing at the time of her death, and had been training to become a mountain guide.

Mt Lenin used to be Mt Stalin, tallest peak in the Pamirs. The Soviet Union’s all round smart ass know ir all Bukharin made a point of climbing Mt Stalin every summer (among his multi talented skills Bukharin was an alpinest). Of course his expeditions into the Pamirs all had a virtual army of support to make sure wonder boy had no problems. He always carried a bust of the Great Leader with him to leave on the top of Mt Stalin. All this did not help the great wiseacre, Stalin had him shot in the Great Purge. The Vozd hated grossly obvious suck ups and smart asses. Bukharin was both.
