You can increase your cellular SOD by taking some taurine each day. 1,500 mg a day increased it by 20%.

To get the specific Mn-SOD made, as listed here, one would likely take the taurine with a source of manganese (Mn). Do note the Upper Tolerable Limit (total) is 11 mg for adult men, per day.

I’ll post the taurine-SOD study, next.

Mitochondria are evolved bacteria. When we experience physical trauma mitochondria spill into surrounding tissue. The immune system can recognize it as a bacterial attack, induce inflammation, and attack the remaining well tissue. This may not occur in the brain because of the blood-brain barrier and because of astrocytes.

For some reason, I was impressed by mitochondria in 9th or 8th grade biology class. And it keeps coming up in important biology news.
