“You go ahead and wait 30 years until it says it will.”

I hope to be around in 30 years. But I can promise you if people start to consume things from what some expert says, they won’t last anything close to 30 years.

There have been many drugs banned after they were introduced to the public because of the lack of quality time centered studies of them. Ever wonder why all the covid vaccines didn’t receive FDA clearance for other than emergency sanctioning. It’s because they weren’t sure what was going to happen and they didn’t want to take the hit.

Here are a few of the FDA banning of unsafe drugs used in parts of the world. Many were discovered years after they were put on the market:

DDT (dichloro-diphenyl-trichloroethane) was developed as the first of the modern synthetic insecticides in the 1940s. It was initially used with great effect to combat malaria, typhus, and the other insect-borne human diseases among both military and civilian populations. It was pulled off the market in 1972. EPA issued a cancellation order for DDT for its potential human health risks. Human health effects from DDT include vomiting, tremors or shakiness, and seizures.

Oxyphenbutazone is a drug that is a non-opioid painkiller. It is commonly used as a single drug in many underdeveloped countries like India and Pakistan; however, it is strictly banned in the USA due to its side effects – bone marrow depression and the reduction of blood cells.

Nimisulide is another non-opioid pain killer that was never introduced in the USA due to its certain side effect – liver failure. And it is a completely banned medicine in the USA list.

Propoxyphene is also banned in the USA due to its adverse effects to the heart rhythm and electrical activity of the heart. Nitrofurazone is also banned for the same reasons.

Valdecoxib was an NSAID pain medication that had been in the market from 2001-2005. But this was recalled by the FDA in 2005 because it was causing adverse heart effects including heart attack, and severe serious skin reactions like epidermal necrolysis and erythema multiforme.

Efalizumab was used to treat psoriasis but it caused progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy in many patients who then had to face inflammation and damage to their central nervous system, so it was recalled in 2009.

Many of these drugs, and many more, were banned when it was determined through extended study they were dangerous and had been in use. Some people during the pandemic were told that maybe bleach could kill covid and they started consuming it.

And this is a short list. If they haven’t received extended study which can take possibly 10 years, it’s a toss up. And a much shorter life with a possible painful end. I’ll wait.
