I heard the deceased person is a woman, but -- regardless -- prayers for this deceased person.
Stay out da bushes! Lagoons are where gators eat, live and breed.
We live about two blocks from the scene. I fish on our lagoon all the time. Gators are around but most swim away if you approach. The exception are when baby alligators are around the female parent will attack. But mostly they are just “there” we respect them. Cooperheads are a bigger problem. We have lived here for 17 years, you will love it.
An update if it already hasn’t been mentioned. The lady, her name was Nancy Becker, 88 years old, was gardening near her lagoon. She accidentally slipped and fell into the water and the gator grabbed her. Poor darling, living that long and dying that way, so sad.
