The Foundation Trilogy by Isaac Asimov
The Amber Series by Roger Zelazny
We All Died At Breakaway Station by Richard C. Meredith

I firmly believe that "We All Died At Breakaway Station" is the best combat science-fiction novel ever written.

It is superb!
Has a hero from Kanawha County WV!

It would make a fantastic movie.
Nobody today could do it justice.

<> That was a really good book (must get another copy), but I might hold out for "Passage at Arms" by Glen Cook. It's basically a U-boat tale set in space, and it will grab you.
