While trail riding a motorcycle in Texas a large diamondback entered the path in front of me!!!
No way would I stop near it, and no way around it.
Yes, I hit it and never again returned to ride in that area.
That snake might still be looking for me!

As a Scout, we often camped at Camp Dan Beard in Northbrook, Il; the place is infested with timber rattlers!!!
My buddy who was born and partly raised in Africa (missionary parents) assured me that snakes will not crossover a fuzzy rope.
We placed about six or seven loops of hemp around our tent.
And survived!!!

Yeah - I’ve backpacked in ‘zona and mountain biked slick rock and camped Moab. Moab is beautiful. Garden of the Gods was a great place to run in the 90’s. Probably overrun with tourists now a days.

I'm not sure it it's the same guy I saw on TV years ago. That guy got bit many times and didn't use anti venom. He said all the bites over the years gave him some immunity to the venom. I guess not.
