The family made the tough decision in a timely fashion. She was gone, they let go.

The family did not get all emotional and public and in the papers and social media and #tag and ‘keep her alive’, etc.

They seem mature and compassionate.

Turns out she suffered severe brain damage as a result of her accident(s). She was kept alive until the donation of her organs and tissues could be arranged.

I think it means the family didn’t keep her on life support for an extended period of time.

My mother in law was on life support for around a week, the Dr in charge of her case finally had a come to Jesus meeting with my wife. In very tactful and gentle terms the Dr made us understand that my wife’s mother just wasn’t going to get any better.

We let he go the next day....something that we probably should have done days earlier.
