Below is the most valuable study on Covid, and also Vitamin D, I have read in a long time. It has 3 very important findings which I will detail.

Vhttps://www.cureus.com/articles/76496-therapies-to-prevent-progression-of-covid-19-including-hydroxychloroquine-azithromycin-zinc-and-vitamin-d3-with-or-without-intravenous-vitamin-c-an-international-multicenter-randomized-trial

NOTE: This study and the one posted both use the measure nmol/L (nanomols per liter). That measure is used by many foreign countries. In the US we use ngm/mL (nanograms per milliliter). Divide nmol/L figures by 2.5 to get equivalent US ngm/mL figures. Thus 25 nmol/L equals 10 ngm/mL. Translated to ngm/mL, the above study says 30 or higher is OPTIMUM, 20 to 29 is insufficient, 10 to 19 is deficient, and below 10 is severely deficient. In the US, health organization Kaiser Permanente (KP) considers 50 to 80 OPTIMUM and above 80 moving into danger territory. Recently scientist have realized that the D level for good immunity seems to be higher than what is needed for bone health.

FINDING 1) After the study of almost 240 people was ended, original blood tests were evaluated. They found NOT ONE person had their OPTIMUM level, 3 were insufficient, and the rest divided between deficient and severely deficient. The one person who died had a reading of 3 ngm/mL. My take is: GET TO OPTIMUM D LEVEL AND YOU WILL LIKLY STAY OUT OF HOSPITALS.

FINDING 2) The original Zelenko Protocol of Zinc, HCQ, Azithromycin, plus added D3 and C is very effective even for hospitalized patients, although Dr. Zelenko recommended treating as early as possible in cases with possible Covid symptoms. Dr. Zelenko has since recommended using Zinc, Ivermectin and Doxycycline as being slightly safer medication, and using Quercetin if HCQ or Ivermectin are not available from a doctor.

FINDING 3) High dose IV (intravenous) Vitamin C substantially shortens days hospitalized (thus saving much medical expense). Compare this with Dr. Fauci’s beloved Remdesivir which had very little effect and cost the taxpayers $3000 per “free” treatment course.

To be safe, getting enough or not too much Vitamin D3, get a blood test and discuss dose with your doctor. In summer 2020 when I had realized lack of Vitamin D was probably a factor in clotting issues and vaccines, I had to decide how much to take on my own. My son and I live in the mid-Atlantic area. He is 6’1” and weighs 250 lb. and his doctor had recently increased him from 5000IU a day to 10,000IU for his SAD (winter depression). I am 5’3” and 145 lb. Summer 2020 I was spending about 5 days a month outdoors lawn mowing. I started taking 2000IU D, and as we went in to Autumn gradually increased to 5000IU for the 4 Winter months. I then reduced back to 2000 IU for summer 2021. In Dec. 2021 I had my annual physical, I was given my first Vitamin D blood test, and my KP OPTIMUM reading was 66 ngm/mL.

I strongly recommend you get the Vitamin D blood test, bring your reading to the OPTIMUM level, and stay out of hospitals if possible. Important NOTE, get your annual physical! My partner missed a year avoiding public exposure to Covid at KP. He now has prostate cancer which should have been diagnosed a year ago with better treatment options.
