“All the major invasions of China were launched from Taiwan.”

Interesting. I was unaware that the Japanese invasions of China in 1894 and 1931 were launched from Taiwan. Or maybe they weren’t major invasions.

(And I didn’t actually look at the clip.)

This is crazy talk.

China has to invade Taiwan because we’re going to invade China from Taiwan?

That isn’t even good enough to be called horse$hit.

MaGregor works for Russia and that means his duties extend to China.

if ANY of you here honestly think that China is afraid of being invaded because Pelosi visited Taiwan, or for any other reason, you are out of your frigging minds.

Who even implied that China was afraid of being invaded from Taiwan?

MacGregor is talking out of his butt.

we have some very sick evil people who are selling us out to China.

No one has a force capable of launching a significant ground invasion of China.

It certainly doesn’t exist on Taiwan.

AND in the 70 years Taiwan has been free, China has grown incredibly stronger. For them to have a fear of an invasion from Taiwan now is absolute BS.

I really think we’re reaching a limit as people on FR begin to support COMMUNIST China invading an ally. Sharks are being jumped.

who implied it? from the article:

All the major invasions of China were launched from Taiwan. Beijing will not allow Taiwan to become a garrison state for US armed forces.”

Duh. Yes MacGregor has said we want to attack China. As he says we want to attack Russia.

He’s an agent of Russia and China and imho people supporting a communist invasion of Taiwan should not be on FR.

This is a bridge too far.

The “3 Cancellations” involved the communication channels between Chinese and American armed forces, .....which means that trust established by the two nations’ military sectors over the years has been damaged, and the risk of collision and friction is rising......It’s likely to see that in the future, the Chinese military will take real-time countermeasures against any provocative actions from the U.S. military based on the actual situation. .......And when two nations’ militaries no longer communicate, all kinds of frictions may arise.

Just because China was invaded long ago is not an implication that it is being contemplated now.

No one is even contemplating invading China from Taiwan. It would be impossible to succeed.

The USA certainly could not sucessfully invade China from Taiwan. No one could.

What we’re actually watching is the inevitable decoupling accelerate. I expect we’ll see more of this on the World Stage as Pelosi goes rouge from the Biden Administration on her own. Other nations are seeing this as Bidens Administration and Pelosi’s Congress split.

Democracy will eventually conquer communism, but not until the people of China demand FREEDOM.

This is why CCP fears the Falun Gong movement that was growing like wildfire in China.

Democracy and communism are both tyrannies. One conquering the other merely replaces one tyranny for another.

“He’s an agent of Russia and China and imho people supporting a communist invasion of Taiwan should not be on FR.”

He’s no Russian agent and nobody on here is supporting a communist invasion of Taiwan. What many of us are against is the neocons purposely fomenting another proxy war using Taiwan as the pawn, similar to what they did with Russia and Ukraine. It’s becoming more and more obvious that’s what they’re pushing for here.

Just think about recent history before calling it BS, the USA nearly went to war with Russia after they put nuclear capable missiles in Cuba which is 90 miles from the US Mainland.

Taiwan is approximately 100 miles from the Chinese Mainland, why would their response be any different than our was response was in the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Of course China is not worried about US invasion from Taiwan, but they will not allow a permanent US presence 100 miles from their mainland, just like we would not tolerate a permanent Russian presence in Cuba.

Russia didn’t have a force to invade the US Mainland but we nearly went to war with them over nuclear capable missiles in Cuba....or have you forgotten that.
