The article never explains why their focus on inventory management for fresh is so necessary (besides some people still using pen and paper), or why their software is superior.

So he has a buying system that bolts on to SAP, or does this replace that too? I think he has created a solution that already exists. I’m sure his uses better AI, which is techie speak for statistics.

Biggest problem with perishables is you need to react quickly or you lose product or lose sales. At the beginning of covid the big retailers were very slow getting out of the gate on replenishment. This was mainly because reality didn’t follow statistics and those same companies had chopped their replenishment staff because they were just button pushers and not enough hours a day to buy manually.

We eat fresh food.

I go out into the garden and pick it and prepare it.

With all of the words used to describe their efforts to bring fresh to to the market, I read one hell of a word salad that says little how they will do it.
