A State voting pool of a few million pales to a national voting pool of 150 million.

You’ve yet to answer why a “moderate” presidential candidate can’t win, but a “moderate” senator can. How does the voting pool work in favor of the senator at a state level? If anything, states are more ideologically unique.

There are some States that are ideological outliers (CA, VT, WY, OK) but for the most part States tend to be moderate. And again, I said House and Senate races. YOU were the first one to mention Presidential elections. I never said a moderate Presidential candidate can't win, but they certainly haven't won recently.

To win elections you need to put forth candidates from your party, who can win. People seem to be forgetting the second part of that statement.
