If you are sent a mail-in ballot, you CAN return it by dropping it off at a voting site on Election Day.

That sounds so silly. If you are going to go to a voting site on Election Day anyhow, why use a mail-in ballot in the first place? You can just vote in person.

If you are on the PEVL, you get one automatically. You have to write and ask them to stop. And some like to fill their ballots out at home where they can look up names or ask others for recommendations. Most mail them back, but concern over post offices ‘losing’ ballots have led a lot of folks to taking them in personally.

Not saying I think it makes sense. I dropped off the PEVL a few years ago and my wife did her paperwork last week. I’d LOVE to get rid of the PEVL but doubt the votes exist for that either.

Other states may think we’re nuts, but a lot of Arizonans like the current system and don’t CARE if it takes a week to validate votes.
